A farmville terrorists – A comment on Modern Life

2023 Version

The bright-eyed lass stared at her glowing screen, Longing for the sound of the click so keen. A prospective neighbor, perhaps a long-lost friend, A connection so strong, it might never end.

She tended her farm, crops growing tall, Hoping that click would come to call. Night after night, she lay in bed, Anxiously waiting, not daring to rest her head.

Many clicks came, but none held the key, To unlock the door to her destiny. She knew not what she sought, But the click that mattered, she knew not.

Yet still, he haunted her every night, That neighbor, that friend, so out of sight. Living in fear of missing the call, Desperate to answer, and not miss at all.

But the click never came, the fear remained, A terror that left her feeling drained. For the ultimate click, she searched high and low, A lasting connection, that would make her glow.

Alas, it never came, and she was left to weep, For a click that was never hers to keep. And so, she closed her eyes and rested her head, Knowing the search for the click was over and dead.

Old version

Awaken by the thoughts of invitation of a prospective neighbor
The bright eyed Googler looks at her computer
Waiting for someone to click
Someone is searching for you, your thoughts, your likes and dislikes
So you farm, grow your crops, waiting…
Your crops grow, are collected and replanted time over time.
You got to bed again waiting for that click
many clicks go by
but the click you are looking for does not come
Your not sure what you are waiting for
but you know he is out there.
But instead he doesn’t let you sleep
He keeps you awake every night
living in fear of missing that perfect click, terrorized to miss that ultimate click
That everlasting click that will change your life forever
And the click never comes…
